Publisher Description
TOWMaster is designed for iOS platforms and available on iPhone and iPads. TOWMaster can be used to estimate the bollardpull requirement for towing tugs. It includes two independent methods (Bureau Veritas and Regression of tested hulls based on OTC Paper 3320) for estimation of barge resistance and bollard pull.
The present version uses the following methods for resistance and bollardpull prediction.
• Bureau Veritas Towage of Sea Vessels or Floating Units
• Resistance of Offshore Barges and Required Horse Power (OTC Paper 3320)
Both the methods are suitable for the conventional material barge tow and give comparable results. However, it should be noted that none of the resistance prediction methods are exact and can vary depending on the hull form parameters, tug parameters and environment parameters.
Main Features are
- Two independent and recognised methods for performance prediction and bollardpull calculation of barge hull
- Preloaded with popular marine warranty guideline requirements
- Professional reporting and email facility
- Ideal for remote site operations
- Suitable for bollard pull prediction of jackets, topsides, line pipes
- Widely accepted and proven algorithm for offshore tows
- Naval Architects can predict the bollard pull more accurately
- Ship owners can use it to optimise the tow speed and tug selection
Preloaded with standard MWS guidelines for tow, it makes easy for marine personnel to calculate the bollard pull, and surveyors to check and verify the actual tug selected onsite.
Facility to define the appendage areas for more accurate prediction of bollard pull. It can predict the bollard pull for Stall as well as Tow conditions.
Great tool for vessel owners to select the tugs and plan and optimise the tow speed. Handy tools for surveyor to independently cross check the tug selection.
It generates professional report that can be readily made part of the calculation report. Integrated email facility to send the report for peer review or instantly share the results through AirDrop, WhatsApp, DropBox or other social media.
